In April 2027, Surrey Heath Borough Council will conclude its service to residents, making way for the formation of the new West Surrey Council. As we look ahead to this change, we want to celebrate the borough and the incredible people, places, and achievements that have shaped Surrey Heath over the past 52 years since the council was formed.

Cllr Cliff Betton was chosen as the 54th Mayor of Surrey Heath at the Annual Meeting of Surrey Heath Borough Council. 

The council is proposing to extend the existing Public Space Protection Orders for a further three-year period until October 2029.

Following today’s count (8 May), for the West Surrey Council election, the Liberal Democrat Party won 56 of the 90 seats available - meaning it holds the majority.

With only one week until election day, we are urging voters to make sure they have their say on Thursday 7 May. 

Camberley was alive with talent on Sunday 19 April, as the Surrey Heath Stars Final took place at Camberley Theatre, showcasing the incredible creativity and performance skills found across the borough.

Surrey Heath’s Local Land Charges service has joined the national digital register, making buying a property quicker and simpler. 

Surrey Heath Borough Council marked its long-standing international friendships with a special town twinning celebration held on Friday 17 April at Surrey Heath House.

The sale of a property on Princess Way, Camberley has been approved by the Surrey Heath Borough Council Executive.

The council Executive has approved the adoption of updated policies in line with the introduction of the Renters Rights Act on 1 May 2026.
