Annual Lottery Grant Scheme open for applications

Applications are open for this year's Annual Lottery grant scheme, meaning local charities can apply for funding from the money raised by the Surrey Heath Lottery.

The Surrey Heath Lottery was launched by the Council in July 2019, and was set up to support local charities - raising money in the community, for the community.

Unauthorised encampment at Collingwood School

An unauthorised encampment consisting of eight caravans and eight vehicles are currently situated in the car park at Collingwood School. Surrey Police officers have requested they leave on behalf of the site manager.

Greater protections for the environment through Biodiversity Net Gain

Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) is a way of creating and improving natural habitats through the planning process.

BNG is a mandatory requirement on major new developments (unless exempt) from 12 February 2024, and will apply to new planning applications received on or after this date.

The Surrey Heath Youth Council (SHYC) has been relaunched with new partner, children and young people's charity Learning Space. It will offer an effective way for young people to have a direct voice into the Council, and have a say on issues that affect them.
