Residents will soon be able to use the public car park at St Barbara's Church in Deepcut, with the facility set to open in early July.
Following discussions between Skanska and Surrey Heath Borough Council, the remaining works needed to complete the formal park have now been agreed, allowing a timetable for opening the car park to be confirmed.
Surrey Heath Portfolio Holder for Built Environment & Regulation Cllr Alan Ashbery said: "I know many residents have been frustrated by the wait for this car park to open, so I'm pleased we can now confirm that it is expected to open in early July.
"I'd like to thank residents for their patience while the final stages of the wider park development are completed by Skanska. We're looking forward to the facility being made available to the community very soon."
The car park forms part of the wider formal park development and Skanska have confirmed that the car park will open once this has been formally signed off as complete as part of the formal planning process.
We recognise that residents have been waiting for the car park to open and appreciate the community's patience while the final works are completed.
Further updates will be provided ahead of the opening.
