GeoPlace has announced Surrey Heath Borough Council as the Winner of the 2026 Street Naming & Numbering Collaboration & Innovation Award. This award recognises the council’s collaborative work with Revenues and Benefits to improve the way new developments are identified, monitored and brought into taxation.

Surrey Heath Borough Council wants local people to share their feedback on the new policy so that it can be considered before it is adopted.

Proposed changes to the submitted Local Plan are open for public consultation before the Inspector makes a final decision. 

The building that’s been home to a local boxing club for more than 40 years is being sold to the current tenants to allow further investment in the building to be unlocked. 

Surrey Heath Borough Council has declared its support for the Collectively Camberley Business Improvement District (BID) as it looks to renew its term for another five years.

Funding towards repairs and improvements to a well-used community hub has been approved by Surrey Heath Borough Council Executive. 

In April 2027, Surrey Heath Borough Council will conclude its service to residents, making way for the formation of the new West Surrey Council. As we look ahead to this change, we want to celebrate the borough and the incredible people, places, and achievements that have shaped Surrey Heath over the past 52 years since the council was formed.

Cllr Cliff Betton was chosen as the 54th Mayor of Surrey Heath at the Annual Meeting of Surrey Heath Borough Council. 

The council is proposing to extend the existing Public Space Protection Orders for a further three-year period until October 2029.

Following today’s count (8 May), for the West Surrey Council election, the Liberal Democrat Party won 56 of the 90 seats available - meaning it holds the majority.
