Chobham Neighbourhood Plan consultation

Chobham Parish Council have made steps towards producing a neighbourhood development plan.
Submission
Chobham Parish Council has submitted their proposed Neighbourhood Plan to Surrey Heath Borough Council for publication, independent examination and a referendum ahead of the Plan being ‘made’ (adopted).
The Neighbourhood Plan covers the period to 2038 and contains a vision and planning policies which if adopted, will form part of the development plan and be used by the Borough Council in the determination of planning applications in the Parish.

Neighbourhood plan consultation
The Borough Council is now required to publish the Neighbourhood Plan for comments for a minimum period of six weeks. This consultation runs from 15 July until 5 September 2025. Further information on the consultation, and how to respond, can be found on our Chobham Neighbourhood plan consultation portal.
Following the close of consultation, the Neighbourhood Plan will then be subject to independent examination, and subject to the outcome of the examination, a local referendum will be held.
Further information on the next steps in preparing of the Neighbourhood Plan will be added to this webpage once more detail is available.
Previous consultation
Chobham Parish Council consulted on a Draft Chobham Neighbourhood Plan. Between 6 May and 21 June 2024. Please visit the Chobham Parish Council website (external link) for further information about the consultation.
Chobham Neighbourhood Area
The Council received an application from Chobham Parish Council to designate a Chobham Parish Neighbourhood Plan Area in 2013.
Following a six week consultation which took place from 10 July to 21 August 2013, Chobham Parish was designated by the Council on 12 November 2013 as a Neighbourhood Plan Area.

Environmental Impact Screening
Surrey Heath Borough Council has undertaken a screening process in consultation with relevant environmental bodies to determine whether a Strategic Environmental Assessment and/or appropriate assessment is required to support the Chobham Neighbourhood Plan. The Borough Council has determined that neither is required and copies of the Screening Opinion and Council's Determination can be found below.
