Information relating to the recent announcement regarding the preferred new site for the new Frimley Park Hospital.
No planning application has been submitted to Surrey Heath Borough Council at this time.
The council is the local planning authority, and if an application is submitted the council will assess it against planning legislation, planning policy and other material planning considerations before determining the application.
Submitted planning applications can be found on the planning application pages of the council's website. If a planning application is submitted for the new hospital site a link will be added to this webpage. Residents can also sign up for planning application alerts through the council's planning system to receive notifications about applications in a chosen area or relating to a particular address.
Following registration of a valid application the Planning Authority will undertake a statutory consultation period which will include notifying neighbours by letter. Depending on the type of application, consultation may also include a site notice, a press notice and notification of relevant statutory consultees and local amenity groups.
The statutory consultation period is normally a minimum of 21 days. The council will consider all valid representations received before a decision is made.
Any forthcoming application for proposed hospital is expected to be determined by the Planning Applications Committee, although this will depend on the council's Constitution and scheme of delegation at the time if an application is submitted.
Yes. If a planning application is submitted and validated, members of the public will be able to submit comments during the statutory consultation period. Details of how to comment will be available on the planning application webpage.
To keep residents informed about the project, explain the planning process, and signpost to information that is already in the public domain. This is similar to the approach the council took to the Southampton to London Pipeline Project.
