Do you have a community project or improvement idea that needs a funding boost to make it happen?

The Surrey Heath call for Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) funded projects opens at 12 noon on Monday 12 January 2026 and close at 12 noon on Monday 16 February 2026.

The fund provides grants to support local organisations deliver projects that benefit the community.

Why apply?

Councillor Alan Ashbery, Surrey Heath Portfolio Holder for Built Environment and Regulation, said: “Local communities thrive when great ideas get the support they need. These grants are designed to help turn those ideas into reality. If you have a project that will make a real difference for residents, now is the time to apply – it’s a straightforward process and could provide the funding boost you need.”

Ward councillors can also submit bids to the fund. In addition, applications from Parish councils are welcome. For projects in parished wards, applications must have Parish council support and include an appropriate contribution from the relevant Parish Council CIL fund.

What we’re looking for

Projects should:

  1. Clearly benefit local residents.
  2. Align with strategic infrastructure priorities.
  3. Have the support of at least one local ward councillor.

How to apply

If you have a project in mind:

These grants are funded through Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) payments, which are contributions made by developers for development within the Borough. Find out more about the Community Infrastructure Levy.

This funding opportunity replaces the previous Local Community Improvement Fund application process for the remainder of the financial year.
