We’ve assessed the cost and resources required to fix all our documents and to check every document before it is published. We believe that doing so now would be a disproportionate burden within the meaning of the accessibility regulations. We will review this assessment each year. 

Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations

Maps

The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix online maps and mapping services, as long as essential information is provided in an accessible digital manner for maps intended for navigational use. Online maps are integrated into the My Surrey Heath application. The purpose of these maps is to provide contextual location data (such as a ward boundary) alongside written textual descriptions. Due to the nature of maps, these are not able to be accessible, although where appropriate are augmented by written text. The maps are not designed for navigation purposes and are thus exempt from the accessibility regulations.

What we’re doing to improve accessibility

We will continue to review My Surrey Heath to ensure compliance is maintained, reviewing every six months.
