Chobham Water Meadows

Chobham Water Meadows offers many natural paths for walking and includes a 2.5k circular route along the banks of the River Bourne.

Improvement works - from 13 July 2026

A new section of pathway will be installed at Chobham Water Meadows SANG (Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspace) to improve access for users.

The path will connect Chobham Road car park and main entrance to the SANG to the pedestrian bridge upriver. A stone pathway matching existing paths will replace the existing dirt track which becomes quite muddy during the wetter months.

The works are due to start on Monday 13 July and expected to take around two weeks.

Chobham Water Meadows SANG will remain open during the works, safety permitting. Short sections of the working area may be temporarily restricted for safety reasons, with clear signage and barriers in place.

All works will be carried out with care to protect surrounding vegetation, habitats and the nearby Mill Bourne River corridor.

Thank you for your patience and co-operation while these improvement works are carried out.
