Key information about Lightwater Country Park

Lightwater Country Park is situated on the edge of Lightwater Village and extends to 59 hectares. The park won a Green Flag Award for the fourth time in 2022. The award is an international quality mark for parks and green spaces. 

The park is predominantly heathland habitat, but there are also ponds, woodland, meadows and areas of scrub. These habitats offer the opportunity to observe a wide variety of wildlife, birds, mammals, plants and insects.  The area of heathland within the Country Park has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), so is an area of high nature conservation value.

Saturday and Sunday: 8am

Monday to Friday: 10pm

Parking 

There is plenty of free parking available at the park.

Toilets

The toilets are located behind the cafe.

Toilet opening times:

• Close: 5pm
