Residents, community groups and local organisations are being invited to apply for funding to deliver infrastructure projects that will benefit their local areas, as the next round of the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) Call for Projects opens this summer.
CIL funding is collected from developers building new housing in the borough. This funding is used to deliver infrastructure that supports both new developments and the wider local community.
Applications will open at 9.00am on Monday 6 July 2026 and close at 12 noon on Monday 10 August 2026.
The CIL fund provides an opportunity for communities to bring forward projects that help support local infrastructure and improve quality of life for residents.
This round of funding is open to residents, community groups and Parish Councils. Applications relating to Parish wards must have the support of the relevant Parish Council and include an appropriate contribution from its CIL fund.
To be eligible, projects must align with the Council’s key infrastructure priorities, including:
- Suitable Alternative Natural Green Spaces (SANGS)
- Parks and open spaces
- Local transport improvements
- Playgrounds and play equipment
- Indoor sports and leisure facilities
- Community buildings
- Climate change initiatives
- Digital infrastructure
Councillor Alan Ashbery, Deputy Leader of the Council and Built Environment & Regulation Portfolio Holder said; "The CIL fund is a fantastic opportunity to bring forward ideas that make a real difference to Surrey Heath.
Whether it’s improving green spaces, enhancing local facilities, or supporting projects that help tackle climate change, we want to hear from residents and organisations with innovative proposals. I would strongly encourage anyone with a project that meets our priorities to apply."
Further details on how to apply, including guidance and application forms, will be available on the Council’s website from 6 July.
