Surrey Heath Borough Council councillors and officers visited the London Road Development site on Friday 23 January for an on‑site update from Collard Group Ltd.
Good progress continues to be made. Buildings along London Road have now been removed, and asbestos works on the former Allders building are complete. The structure is now being prepared for full demolition.
A 95‑tonne machine with a 40m telescopic reach has arrived on site to support the next phase of works.
Collards Ltd are carrying out the demolition sustainably, with the majority of material being recycled into new building products, helping to reduce waste and environmental impact.
