Local residents asked to help shape new playground designs

The playgrounds at Heatherside Recreation Ground and Frimley Green Recreation Ground are being upgraded - and Surrey Heath Borough Council wants to hear from residents about what they want to see in these exciting new facilities!

Local people are being asked to complete a quick online survey to share their views on topics including types of play equipment, age range and accessibility, and where relevant, the possible retention of key existing features.

In each case, the feedback collected will help shape design proposals for the next stage of the playground refurbishment process, where a public vote will be held to choose the favourite design.

Both playground refurbishments are being funded by ringfenced Community Infrastructure Levy funding, which is made up of payments made by developers as a result of development taking place in the borough.

Surrey Heath Portfolio Holder for Environment and Recreation Cllr Morgan Rise said: "I am thrilled these two playgrounds are being upgraded and we want local families - who will be the ones using the facilities - to have a major input into the design process.

"I encourage people who will use the new playgrounds to share their views, to help make sure the improved play areas reflect the needs of the local community."
