A Notice of Referendum has been published for the adoption of the Chobham Neighbourhood Plan. You can only vote in this referendum if you are a resident in the Chobham Parish area.
At an Executive meeting on 10 February 2026, councillors agreed that the Chobham Neighbourhood Plan, with modifications, met the Basic Conditions and agreed that the Neighbourhood Plan should proceed to referendum.
The referendum will be held on Thursday, 7 May 2026 to decide on the question: “Do you want Surrey Heath Borough Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Chobham to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?”
The Neighbourhood Plan includes a range of policies relating to the whole of Chobham Parish including housing mix, biodiversity, parking standards, flooding, Chobham Village Centre, important views, local green spaces and heritage.
Once adopted, neighbourhood plans form part of the statutory development plan for the borough and are used in the determination of planning applications in the relevant Neighbourhood Plan area.
