The council’s Executive approved the sale of Woodend Road Car Park as part of its ongoing commitment to reducing council debt and maintaining long-term financial stability.
Contracts have now been exchanged with Broomhurst Group Limited, with completion scheduled for end of January 2026.
A key condition of the sale is that the car park will remain available to the public until 31 December 2026, continuing to serve local customers visiting Deepcut village shops and community amenities.
To further support local parking availability, a new free car park is under construction by the Defence Infrastructure Organisation next to St Barbara’s Church, just 290 yards from Woodend Road Car Park. This new facility is expected to provide around 60 spaces, and be handed over to Surrey Heath Borough Council in the coming months.
Councillor Kel Finan-Cooke, Portfolio Holder for Property and Economic Development, Surrey Heath Borough Council said;
“It is great news that this sale is near completion and that the car park will stay open until at least December next year. This ensures throughout this transition, access to local amenities will be maintained without interruption.”
