Surrey Heath residents can reduce their energy bills and carbon footprint while boosting local renewable energy generation with the latest round of Solar Together Surrey.
As part of the group-buying scheme, local people can come together to invest in solar panels, battery storage and Electric Vehicle charging points, confident that they are paying the right price for a high-quality installation from pre-approved installers.
Surrey Heath Portfolio Holder for Environment and Recreation, Cllr Morgan Rise said: “The Solar Together Surrey scheme is an excellent opportunity for Surrey Heath residents to get solar panels, battery storage and Electric Vehicle charging points installed at a competitive price by trusted installers.
“The previous rounds proved very popular with local residents, and we hope that many more will sign up for this latest phase. Those who take part should see lower energy bills, and reduced carbon emissions.
“Encouraging greater use of green and renewable energy and technologies is essential to our Climate Change Action Plan and drive to net zero, and I am pleased to be supporting this scheme once again.”
Thousands of households across Surrey have benefitted from the installation of solar panels and battery storage since the scheme launched in 2021. It’s free to register and there is no obligation to go ahead with an installation.
Through the scheme, more than 500 solar panel and battery installations have taken place in homes across Surrey Heath.
Surrey Heath Borough Council is working in partnership with Surrey County Council and independent experts iChoosr, to make the transition to clean energy as cost effective and hassle-free as possible.
More information is available on the Solar Together website, and the deadline to register is 8 August 2025.
Customers have from 29 July to 19 September 2025 to decide whether or not to accept the quote and proceed with the installation.
Installations are scheduled to be completed by March 2026.
