The Council’s appointed contractor R Collard Ltd will be arriving on site on Tuesday 1 July 2025 to prepare for the asbestos removal and demolition works on the London Road Block site in Camberley town centre.  The works are due to complete Spring 2026.

The areas they will be working on are the former Allders building and derelict buildings on the High Street and London Road.  Hoardings will be put around the work area to ensure the public’s safety.

Collards are registered with the voluntary ‘Considerate Contractor Scheme’ and are experienced in working in and around busy town centre environments.  Their team will mitigate any impact these works may have on the local environment, such as dust, noise and vibration.

The site managers will conduct regular visual inspections around the boundary of the site to ensure that work boundaries remain safe, secure and free from debris and consistent with construction management plan.

Please note a footpath closure is planned in front of 123 – 139 London Road from mid-July to end of September 2025. Alternative routes will be clearly signposted to ensure the safety of pedestrians.

We will issue further updates as the works progress.
