Surrey Heath Borough Council invites interest for a piece of land in Frimley.
The small plot on Greenbank Way (GU15 2UA), is around 0.30 acres, currently it is unfenced amenity land, and borders numbers 25 and 23 Greenbank Way. The plot is not designated as green space.
The larger area of designated green space between 39 Greenbank Way and the Montessori School is not being considered for sale. This land may offer an opportunity to enhance local play facilities for children and young people in the future.
Councillor Kel Finan-Cooke, Portfolio Holder for Property and Economic Development, Surrey Heath Borough Council, said:
“This is a great opportunity to develop a small site to fit in with the local area. We’re looking for buyers who care about thoughtful, sustainable development and want to make the most of this space.”
Anyone interested in buying the land should carry out their own checks and is encouraged to speak to the Council for planning information before submitting any proposals.

Background
The council recently reviewed its property portfolio to identify sites that have the potential to create a financial return through sale. The review was conducted to support the council’s finances, with proceeds from these sales going towards sustaining the council's essential services to residents.
The sites considered for sale were evaluated against their current use, levels of activity and estimated financial return. This review is part of several measures the council is taking to manage its finances whilst continuing to deliver vital services to residents.
Explanation of planning terminology
Settlement Boundary - This is a line drawn on planning maps that marks the edge of a town or village. Land inside the boundary is considered part of the built-up area and is generally more suitable for development. Land outside is treated as countryside, where development is more restricted.
Amenity Land - Amenity land refers to open space that contributes to the character or enjoyment of an area. It’s often used for informal recreation, visual appeal, or environmental value. It’s not the same as garden land or land designated for specific uses like housing or commercial development .
Non-Designated - This means the land hasn’t been formally labelled or protected for a specific purpose (like a park, nature reserve, or housing site). It’s open land that might be used for general public benefit or visual amenity, but it doesn’t carry a special planning status.
