Surrey Heath Borough Council is continuing the regeneration of Camberley town centre with new improvement and modernisation projects starting in autumn 2024.
These projects include enhancing Pembroke Broadway, the town centre arrival point for many residents and visitors using public transport, with new low energy street lighting, “natural green” roofed bus shelters and modern bins encouraging recycling. Arnold Walk, a key pedestrian route connecting Pembroke Broadway with Princess Way, will be transformed into a welcoming walkway with modern attractive lighting and colourful public art.
Councillor Shaun Macdonald, Leader, Surrey Heath Borough Council said;
“The Council is committed to improving Camberley town centre to make it the destination of choice within the area and these new projects will further enhance the visitor experience, improve their personal safety, help our precious environment and encourage a vibrant town centre.
"Updates on the progress of the works will be published regularly on the Council’s communication channels and we aim to keep any disruption to a minimum for road and pavement users, during the transition.
"The project will pause as needed over the busy pre-Christmas period, so will not affect Christmas trading for our local independent and national chain businesses.
"We hope when completed everyone will enjoy the new look”
