The agenda and papers for the next Executive meeting taking place on 19 September were published yesterday (12 September). 

Cllr Shaun Macdonald, Leader, Surrey Heath Borough Council said;   “I’m pleased that we are bringing forward proposals that will invest more in the services that are most important to local residents like keeping our parks and streets clean, will help accelerate our progress to Net Zero, will recognise the huge personal sacrifice made by our armed forces and their families, and will keep the borough a safe place for everyone.”

Armed Forces Covenant 

A new Armed Forces Covenant has been prepared setting out the Council’s pledges supporting our Armed Forces Community.   

The pledges have been created from focus groups involving members of the Armed Forces Community including veterans, their families and dependents. The Council has also appointed an Armed Forces Champion, Cllr Leanne MacIntyre, who has overseen the development of the pledges.  

The proposed Armed Forces Covenant supports the Council’s key priorities in the areas of Health and Wellbeing, including taking a positive approach to supporting those who are most vulnerable. It recognises the borough’s historic links with the Armed Forces and a commitment to ensuring that our statutory duty is met. 

If the Executive approve the pledges an event will be organised with members of our Armed Forces Community to sign the Covenant. 

UK Shared Prosperity Fund 

The Executive have been asked to review and approve the next round of projects supported by the Council’s allocation of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund  

Litter Bin Replacement Programme 

The Executive have been asked to approve budget to replace the old litter bins across the borough. 

Public Space Protection Orders 

The Executive will consider the approval of an extension to the Public Space Protection Orders (PSPO’s) within Surrey Heath for a further 3-year period until 14 October 2026.  Detail of these PSPO’s is published in the agenda and meeting papers. 

Energy Strategy 

The Executive have been asked to approve a dedicated plan to deal with high energy costs and the need for action to reduce carbon emissions within Council buildings.
