Below is a summary of any of actions already taken by SHBC to tackle Climate Change and protect the environment.
Carbon literacy training was piloted for staff in July 2022. The aim of this programme is to create a network of climate change champions who can educate, train and encourage staff across the organisation.
Quarterly reports are given to the Climate Change Working Group on progress in implementing the Climate Change Action Plan (CCAP). A review of the CCAP will be undertaken in 2023 to ensure that it is still fit for purpose and that the council is on course to achieve net zero by 2030.
