Food hamper donations

Local gym brightens Christmas for vulnerable families.

Some of Surrey Heath’s most vulnerable families will have their Christmas brightened by a hamper donation from a local gym.  Maximus Gym in Frimley has donated 50 hampers for distribution through Surrey Heath Borough Council’s Family Support team.

Supporting community and economic projects in Surrey Heath

Surrey Heath Borough Council has £1millon secured from the national UK Shared Prosperity Fund to be used to improve outcomes for our communities and businesses through targeted funded projects and initiatives.  At the Executive meeting held on 6 December the next phase of funded projects was agreed.  These projects will provide extensive improvements within our borough.  Projects have been identified through recent council consultation and engagement with the Surrey Heath Partnership.

Surrey Heath Borough Council boosts businesses - Unveiling shopfront grant scheme

Do you own a business that operates from a retail unit?  You could qualify for funding of up to £3,500 to improve the appearance of your business. 

The Surrey Heath Shopfront Improvement Grant scheme offers grants of up to £3,500 to businesses to improve and enhance their shop front, windows, doors and signage.

Recycle your Christmas tree for free in Surrey Heath

Surrey Heath Borough Council’s Christmas tree recycling scheme is back this festive season. In the new year, residents can bring their real Christmas trees to one of our 15 recycling points from 3-21 January, and do their bit for the local environment – and the planet!

Surrey Heath Borough Council steps in to protect woodland at St Catherine’s Road, Frimley for current and future generations

Surrey Heath Borough Council has secured 31.5 hectares of woodland on the east side of St Catherine’s Road in Frimley to preserve it as a recreational woodland area, protecting this natural green space and improving access for walkers. 

This land will be paid for from contributions from developers who have built homes over recent years in the borough and will enable the Council to also receive funds from future developers for the ongoing upkeep of the site.

Help 'Change the Story' and take action against violence towards women and girls

To mark White Ribbon Day, which takes place every year on 25 November, Surrey Heath Portfolio Holder for Resident and Community Services Cllr Helen Whitcroft joins Surrey Heath Borough Council officers and Surrey Police colleagues in asking people to be an ally to help ‘Change the Story’ and take action against violence towards women and girls (VAWG).
