Surrey Heath Youth Council relaunched

The Surrey Heath Youth Council (SHYC) has been relaunched with new partner, children and young people's charity Learning Space. It will offer an effective way for young people to have a direct voice into the Council, and have a say on issues that affect them.

Draft Local Heritage List consultation open

Surrey Heath Borough Council is asking people to respond to its updated draft list of local heritage assets (also known as a ‘Local List’). The deadline for comments is 4pm on 4 March 2024.

New playground design announced for Albert Road, Bagshot

The winning design for the new playground at Albert Road, Bagshot has been chosen. After a public vote on a shortlist of five potential designs, the winner was the Wicksteed design. Work on the new playground is due to start in March 2024.

Surrey Heath Borough Council introduces new strategy, "Delivering for you and a fairer society

Surrey Heath Borough Council’s draft Council Strategy 2024-2028, “Delivering for you and a fairer society”,  sets a clear direction and overall priorities for the organisation over the next 4 years , drawing on the wider aspirations and priorities of local residents and stakeholders, and has been developed for the new Council, following elections in May and June 2023.

Council Leader comments on formal response to Provisional Financial Settlement 

As part of the Council strategy to campaign on behalf of residents, Shaun Macdonald, Leader, Surrey Heath Borough Council, wrote an open letter to Micheal Gove MP, Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing, and Communities, during the formal consultation on the Council's 2024/25 financial settlement.
