8 May 2020 is the 75th anniversary of VE Day, which marked Victory in Europe in World War 2.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, this will need to be commemorated differently, at home, rather than with social gatherings and public events.
We are encouraging everyone in Surrey Heath to follow the government guidance and stay safe at home while celebrating VE Day.
We'll be sharing our virtual VE Day commemorations on our SHBC social media channel (Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn) on Friday 8 May, including a special message from the Mayor combined with some local history in collaboration with Surrey Heath Museum.
