Surrey Heath Museum is now at 33, The Square, Obelisk Way, Camberley
Since the 1930s, Surrey Heath Museum has been supported by the local unitary authority, with display areas in the council offices and annual programmes of events, exhibitions and outreach. After 80 years of this association, Surrey Heath Museum has moved into Camberley town centre. It is now at the Heritage Gallery, 33 Obelisk Street, Camberley (opposite Argos in The Square). Invited by Surrey Heath Archaeology and Heritage Trust and Surrey Heath Museum Action Group to have a permanent display on the ground floor of the Heritage Gallery. We have created an exhibition area, local history displays, shop and open access research area. The heritage gallery has moved to the top floor with displays from the area’s local societies.
It is a very exciting time for Surrey Heath Museum and Heritage Services as we refocus our displays and the outreach we offer and create this unique local heritage hub. Come along and visit the new museum and gallery and discover the local societies on offer, the heritage of your area and take part in our events programme.
