Walking football will be postponed until lockdown ends.
In conjunction with the Surrey FA and Surrey Heath Borough Council, Surrey Heath Walking Football Club are going from strength to strength at the ‘3G’ all-weather pitch at Frimley Lodge Park. For more information on the venue, please visit the Football 3G Pitch Webpage.
Walking Football is an adapted but equally fun form of the game for the over 50s, and has recently seen an explosion in popularity as a result of the recent Barclays advert which showcases it. In addition to keeping people active, it aims to re-engage individuals who may have thought their football playing days were over. The manner in which the sport is played promotes cardiovascular fitness whilst producing the least stress on the body, making it ideal for those who have been told to ‘slow down’.
The Frimley Lodge Park sessions, which are open to all, take place on Wednesday lunchtimes from 1pm-2pm with a nominal charge of £2 per week.
Due to its popularity a new Friday lunch time session is 'kicking off' on Friday afternoons starting on the 5th January. The sessions will take place at Chobham Recreation Ground from 1-2pm and will be delivered by an FA qualified coach for those who might be new to the game or a little rusty.
You can see the guys and girls at Frimley Lodge Park below ...or why not come down to Frimley Lodge Park or Chobham Recreation ground and join in the fun too?
We look forward to seeing you there!
