UPDATE: Thanks to everyone who dropped their Christmas trees off in January - our tree recycling scheme collected more than 1,000 real Christmas trees this year.
The final total collected was 1,180 trees – an increase of almost 50% compared with the previous year.
These have been turned into wood chippings to restock the paths at Frimley Lodge Park.

Following the success of the scheme over the past two years, Surrey Heath residents can recycle their real Christmas tree for free in 2019 as part of a Council-run scheme – and help maintain the Borough’s parks at the same time.
Between 5-19 January 2019, Surrey Heath Borough Council will be running 15 drop off sites across the Borough, where residents can drive in and leave their ‘real’ Christmas tree in a designated area.
At the end of this period, the trees will be chipped and the resulting wood chippings will be used to replenish paths in our parks.
Last year, more than 800 trees were recycled via the scheme, which helped restock paths in Frimley Lodge Park.
