On 24 May 2021 the Housing Minister made a Written Ministerial Statement to Parliament which set out changes to planning policy including the introduction of First Homes. First Homes are a new form of discounted market housing for first time buyers. For planning applications determined after 28 December 2021 at least 25% of all affordable housing units delivered by developers must be First Homes.
