Five Year Housing Land Supply

The National Planning Policy Framework requires Local Planning Authorities to assess and demonstrate a five year supply of deliverable housing sites. The five year housing land supply paper sets out the position in Surrey Heath as at December 2017 for the five year period 2017-2022.

The Joint Strategic Housing Market Assessment undertaken with Hart and Rushmoor Councils (2016) indicates an Objectively Assessed Housing Need (OAHN) of 382 dwellings per annum (dpa) for Surrey Heath.

Having regard to the OAHN figure set out in the 2016 SHMA, the Council can currently demonstrate a 3.95 year housing land supply. 

Supply is based on: 

  • Sites with Planning permission not yet started;
  • Sites with Planning permission under construction;
  • Sites set out in the Strategic Land Availability Assessment (SLAA) as deliverable over a five year period and;
  • Allocated sites

Housing Completions for Monitoring Year 2015-16

Surrey Heath Borough Council monitors the implementation of housing development in the Borough. The report below demonstrates the housing completions in Surrey Heath during the monitoring year 2015-16 from the period 1 April 2015 to 31 March 2016. Pages 2-15 of the report list development progress at individual housing sites. Page 16 of the report provides an overall summary of the total number of completed dwellings recorded for the monitoring year. Future reports will be produced for subsequent monitoring years, as information is continuously collected and updated.
