There are six accreditation schemes available to businesses in Surrey: B Corporation, Green Accord, Investors in the Environment, Green Mark, Carbon Trust Standard, and EU Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS).
B Corporation is broader than just a green accreditation. It’s well established with global reach and includes big names such as Innocent Smoothies and The Body Shop. The B Impact Assessment is a free tool which businesses can use to explore their sustainability. The Impact Report gives advice on how to improve your score. The accreditation gives access to the network and to support, but the most valuable thing seems to be the impact assessment tool.
The Green Accord is an environmental accreditation that evidences green business practices utilising a self-assessment that is clear, with easy to implement actions.
The Green Accord provides an affordable route to improving environmental performance, reducing carbon emissions and business costs.
Investors in the Environment (iiE)
Investors in the Environment (iiE) is a national environmental accreditation scheme. It is designed to help organisations save time and money, reduce their impact on the environment, and get promoted for their green credentials.
They provide all the help, support, and networking you need to make your organisation greener and ensure you get recognition for your eco initiatives. Members’ achievements are highlighted at events, and promoted through e-newsletters and as online articles and case studies.
Green Mark provides an affordable option to organisations of any size wishing to demonstrate their commitment to environmental sustainability.
The Carbon Trust Standard
The Carbon Trust Standard helps organisations develop and communicate their leadership in carbon, water and waste management . Thanks to a rigorous third-party assessment, their clients receive the expertise and knowledge to become climate leaders on their journey to net zero. For over a decade, they have worked with organisations across sectors to help them achieve year on year reductions and communicate these achievements in an impactful and credible way.
EU Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS)
