Tree-cycle! Our popular free Christmas tree recycling scheme is back this year

Wednesday, 27 November, 2019

Following the success of the scheme over the past three years, Surrey Heath residents can recycle their real Christmas tree for free in the new year – and help maintain the Borough’s parks at the same time.

Between 4-19 January 2020, we’ll be running 15 drop off sites across Surrey Heath where residents can drive in and leave their ‘real’ Christmas tree in a designated area.

At the end of this period, the trees will be chipped and the resulting wood chippings will be used to replenish paths in our parks.

Last year, around 1,200 trees were recycled via the scheme, which helped restock paths in Frimley Lodge Park.

Recycle your real Christmas tree for free in the new year - and make our Greenspace Team leader Steve smile!
