Surrey Heath Borough Council would like to reassure residents that it is doing everything possible to ensure disruption to fuel supplies does not impact on the Council’s core operational services.
A combination of the national shortage of HGV drivers and concerns over fuel supplies led to a well publicised national surge in demand.
Surrey Heath Borough Council met with partners this morning (Tuesday 28 September) to discuss the disruption to fuel supplies we have seen in recent days and ensure we're ready to act wherever support is needed. Services are not impacted at the moment and whilst the fuel situation is expected to improve in the next couple of days, SHBC and our partners will continue to monitor the situation closely and work with each other to ensure vital public services across the Borough continue to be delivered.
Once again we're humbled by the community response in Surrey Heath and are aware of residents helping each other by combining shopping and pharmacy collections and electric vehicle owners offering support to key workers getting to work. Please continue to be kind and considerate to others and where possible consider alternative travel options whilst things return to normal.
