Surrey Heath Portfolio Holder for Leisure, Culture and Community Cllr Rebecca Jennings-Evans said: 

"The Briars Centre is run by an independent board of trustees who are responsible for maintaining the building, agreeing hirers and setting hiring fees.

"We are concerned that matters have not been resolved between The Briars Centre and some of their hirers before the start of the new term.

"As a third party, SHBC has been in discussion with the trustees of the Briars Centre and its hirers to try and facilitate a resolution to the situation. We will continue to assist the parties in any way we can to try and find a mutually agreeable outcome."
