SHBC Revenue Grant scheme 2022-23 open for applications

Date:

Monday, 25 October, 2021
Surrey Heath Borough Council’s Revenue Grant Scheme is open for applications for the forthcoming financial year.

The Council is keen to hear from organisations that provide vital services – whether helping people in their daily lives, or contributing to the community through the arts, sport, or access to the natural environment.

Bids are invited from registered and compliant ‘not for profit organisations’, such as charities, that meet the criteria in providing services in our community to enable the Council to achieve its short and long term strategies.

All applications must demonstrate a clear benefit to the local Surrey Heath community, or a section of it.

Portfolio Holder for Support and Safeguarding, Cllr Shaun Garrett, said: “This is a vital scheme for many local organisations that provide key services in the Borough, whether through supporting local people, promoting the natural environment or community activities.

“We recently extended the scheme so more groups can access funds, and I would encourage any group who might qualify to find out more about the scheme, and apply before the November 15 deadline.”

Where organisations undertake work on the Council’s behalf, the Council Executive has agreed to ring fence their funds. This relates to Citizens Advice Surrey Heath, Blackwater Valley Countryside Partnership and Basingstoke Canal Authority.

The total cash budget available for the scheme is forecasted to be retained at a maximum of £200,000 (to be confirmed in early 2022 when the Council approves its budgets for the year), which is inclusive of the ringfenced funds for the above organisations.

The scheme covers the period from April 1 2022 - March 31 2023. Applications need to be received before 9am on November 15 2021.
