Surrey Heath Portfolio Holder for Leisure, Culture and Community, Cllr Rebecca Jennings-Evans said:

"We are sorry that bin collections at some of our parks have not been carried out to our usual standards over the bank holiday weekend. 

"This was due to staffing issues at our Grounds Maintenance contractor, Glendale.

"We have been working urgently with Glendale to resolve the situation. From today, extra staff will be carrying out additional parks waste collections in all locations across the borough to ensure all bins have been emptied, and we will continue to monitor the situation to ensure that parks are kept clean and tidy.  

"In the meantime, please report any parks bins that need emptying at business.services@surreyheath.gov.uk."
