Independent investigation - update

Wednesday, 18 December, 2019

The independent investigation commissioned by the Council into payment of an additional duties allowance has now concluded and has been received by the Council.

Browne Jacobson, the legal firm appointed to carry out the investigation, has advised the Council that their final report should be considered alongside other matters that are still ongoing, and therefore it cannot be released (either in full or in part) at the current time.

The Council's Chief Executive, Karen Whelan, is currently on agreed leave. Any queries regarding the business of the Council should in the first instance be directed to the Council's interim Deputy Chief Executive, Tim Pashen.
