Garden Waste Collection Update

Date:

Wednesday, 22 September, 2021
Following the suspension of the garden waste service due to the national shortage of HGV drivers, we have been looking hard at how we might secure sufficient drivers to make one final collection to deal with garden waste bins that remain full. We're pleased to let you know that we have found a way to complete this final collection in October, subject to the national shortage not deteriorating further.

For Surrey Heath subscribers this is planned to be either the week commencing 11 October or 18 October, depending on your usual garden waste collection week.

Subscribers will receive more information on the detail of these arrangements from Joint Waste Solutions before then, via email or letter.

As previously confirmed all subscriptions will be extended for the duration of the service suspension.

We know the suspension of garden waste collections is frustrating, and if you wish to cancel the service your bin will be collected and a pro-rata refund will be issued for the period the service has been suspended. Please be aware that if you cancel your garden waste subscription and later wish to rejoin, you will need to complete the sign up process again once the service is accepting new customers.

Thank you for your patience during this disruption. For more information and updates about how we are continuing to work on ways to resume the service and offer additional alternatives for disposing of your garden waste, visit www.jointwastesolutions.org
