Entries are open for the Camberley Community Sprint Triathlon on March 31.
The Sprint distance is designed to bridge the gap between beginner triathlons and the full distance.
Competitors start with a 400 metre swim in the Arena Leisure Centre before cycling 20km around a picturesque Camberley course. There's a final 5km run to the finish line where a medal awaits.
It's the perfect test of endurance in a professional, friendly environment. All abilities welcome, from first-timers to experienced triathletes.
It's also open to enter as a team 'relay' event, where a group of three people each complete one of the legs of the triathlon (swim, cycle or run).
So if you'd like to take part, but don’t think you're quite up to completing the whole triathlon, it's a great opportunity to grab two of your friends, work colleagues or family members and demonstrate some teamwork!
SHBC Portfolio Holder for Places and Strategy, Cllr Craig Fennell, said: “Back by popular demand, this Sprint Triathlon event is the perfect way for beginners to dip their toe into the triathlon waters in a friendly environment, or for more experienced athletes to kick start their triathlon season.
“I’d encourage anyone who is considering entering to take the plunge and go for it.
“This is the latest in a series of triathlon events the Council have organised, demonstrating our commitment to supporting sports development and healthy fitness in the Borough.”
Entry is open to anyone 16 and over, and costs £35. Early bird rate of £29 is available until 24 February. What are you waiting for?
