Normal bin collection service has resumed following the end of strike action by the GMB union that took place over the past fortnight.
All crews left the depot this morning (15 August) and will be collecting all types of waste and recycling that are due on their usual collection day.
From today, please put all bins out as normal on your usual collection day. The resumption of the normal collection timetable from today will result in those residents who have been waiting the longest for the collection of their dry mixed recycling (and garden waste where relevant) to have these collected first. Please check your collection calendar. Please put excess dry mixed recycling out in clear plastic sacks or cardboard boxes - please note however that wet cardboard cannot be collected.
Clear plastic sacks are still available for residents to collect for free from various locations across the borough. These can be used to temporarily store any dry mixed recycling that doesn't fit in the recycling bin. Up to six sacks can be collected on each visit.
Due to the continued hot weather, residents are asked to present their bins for collection by 5.30am on their scheduled collection day, rather than the usual 6am.
Please report any missed collections via the JWS website and leave your bin out until it is collected.
Residents may still wish to take uncollected waste and recycling to their nearest Community Recycling Centre - there are sites at Wilton Road, Camberley and Swift Lane, Bagshot. You can find more information at Surrey County Council's Community Recycling Centre webpages.
We appreciate that this has been a challenging situation for everyone, and thank you for your understanding and co-operation during this time.
Please also share this information with any neighbours who are not online.
