Walking Tennis

2 people playing tennis

A new walking tennis session is starting in Surrey Heath!

The sessions are open to anyone who would like to play tennis at their own pace, but they are ideal for people aged 50 and over or those recovering from an injury. The sessions will be led by an experienced coach and all equipment is provided.Tennis in the park

Walking tennis has been designed to be accessible for all. Its tennis but with a few tweaks:

  • You can let the ball bounce twice.
  • You can play on a smaller court.
  • Players can not run or jump.

Session Details

The first session will take place on Sunday 24 July at London Road Recreation ground (GU15 3HB) from 9am-10am. The sessions will then run weekly for an initial 10 weeks. These first 10 weeks of sessions will be completely free of charge, so this is the perfect opportunity to get out and try a new sport or get back into tennis after a break.

Please note there will be no sessions on 27 August or 3 September. The sessions will recommence on 10 September 2022 and take place from 12pm - 1pm.

There will be parking available at Places Leisure Camberley (you will need to give your number plate to reception upon arrival) and don't forget to head back there for a coffee and a chat after the session!
