2019 Surrey Youth Games

Take a look at this video...

Team Surrey Heath showed off their new skills at the 2019 Specsavers Surrey Youth Games following 6 weeks of free taster sessions.

The highlight of the festival weekend was a flurry of medals on Sunday which launched Surrey Heath up to tied 5th position in the medal table and tied 4th in the prestigious Gerry Ceaser Fair Play Trophy. Medal winners included boxing, judo and netball teams but most importantly all of the teams were able to experience a high quality festival event designed purely for beginners.

More than 220 young people tried up to 11 different sports or activities as part of the scheme coordinated by SHBC, Active Surrey and local clubs.

Beginners enjoyed between 6-8 weeks of free coaching sessions, culminating in the festival weekend at Surrey Sports Park, Guildford on 15-16 June. Many of the youngsters have now committed to continuing the activities.

Well done to all who took part, and huge thanks to our fantastic clubs and sponsors.
