Hammond's Pond at Lightwater Country Park

Day fishing information

Day ticket fishing is available at Lightwater Country Park. A valid Environment Agency rod licence is required. Hammonds Pond offers mixed course fishing so is an ideal place for pleasure angling. Day fishing will be offered from dawn to dusk. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. There are 10 swims available on the pond.  Tickets can be purchased in advance via our Fishing Permit form

Summer Education Sessions - Fishing

This is a taster session for ages 8 and up at Hammonds Pond. All equipment supplied. £30 per session.
 
Sessions:
Wednesday 27th July 10am-1pm
Wednesday 10th August 10am - 1pm
Wednesday 24th August 10am-1pm

Any young fishers aged 13-16 are required by the Environment Agency to have a rod licence (free for this age bracket) via the gov.uk website and present the licence / licence number on the day. Under 13s not required to do so.
All children to be accompanied by an adult, please bring foldable chairs to fish in comfort.
There is a café and toilets on site.

Further information and Costs

If you catch a sturgeon whilst fishing here, do not return it to the water, as this is an offence. Instead, please contact the Environment Agency and they will give you advice on what you should do.

We have a recycling bin for used fishing line at Hammonds Pond in Lightwater Country Park.  Thank you to the Angling Trust (Thames Region) who donated the bin.

This environmentally-friendly way of dealing with old fishing lines reduces litter, avoids landfill and helps protect local wildlife.  More info on the Anglers National Line Recycling Scheme
