Armed Forces Community Covenant

Armed forces representatives from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and Deepcut Station with former CEO of Surrey HeathA pledge strengthening the links between the armed forces and civilian communities in Surrey Heath has been affirmed in writing.

Surrey Heath Borough Council joined local armed forces representatives from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and Deepcut Station on 31 January 2012 to officially sign the Armed Forces Community Covenant.

The declaration is a voluntary statement of mutual support between a civilian community and its local armed forces community. It is intended to complement the Armed Forces Covenant, which outlines the moral obligation between the nation, the government and the armed forces, at local level. The covenant will also bring support for armed forces personnel through assisting with healthcare, employment and housing needs during and when they leave service.

The signatories to the Surrey Heath Community Covenant were: Surrey Heath Borough Council, RMA Sandhurst, Deepcut Station, Surrey Police, Surrey Fire and Rescue, Voluntary Services Surrey Heath, Frimley Park Hospital, Collectively Camberley, Surrey Chambers of Commerce, Surrey Heath Commissioning Group, Royal British Legion Camberley, Army Benevolent Fund and Surrey SSAFA Forces Help.
