Originally scheduled to take place at the end of March at Camberley Theatre, the outbreak of COVID-19 meant those plans were put on hold. Shortlists had already been drawn up by then, and winners chosen by the judges - Paul Marcus (former MD Eagle Radio), Val Buckingham (Fredrick’s Foundation), Paul Scott (Enterprise M3 Growth Champion) and Louise Livingston (Executive Head Transformation SHBC). As usual the standard of entrants was very high and the judges had a difficult job choosing the eventual winners. However any announcements were postponed while alternative arrangements were made.
With the September Business Breakfast also no longer taking place in its usual format due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Council instead announced the shortlisted businesses on the SHBC website and social media channels. Award judges and senior SHBC figures individually presented the trophies to the winners at their business, with videos of these presentations shared with the public.
