Residents Parking Permits

Camberley Controlled Parking Zone - Residents Parking Scheme

The Camberley Controlled Parking Zone was introduced in August 1999. However, since then please be advised changes have recently been made as part of the proposals certain households within the zone are entitled to apply for a residents parking permit.

Conditions of Permit

The resident permit issued by Surrey Heath Borough Council:

  • Will NOT guarantee the permit holder a parking space
  • Will NOT exempt you form the yellow lines restrictions
  • Will only exempt the holder from the 'time limit' restriction if the permit is displayed in accordance with the guidelines
  • Will only be valid for the road in which the holder is resident
  • Will remain the property of the council

Eligibility

  • Any resident who is the owner of a vehicle, who in the opinion of the Council, does not have off street parking or a garage facilities may apply to the Council for the issue of a residents parking permit in respect of that vehicle
  • Each household without off street parking facilities will be eligible to purchase one permit only.
  • The Council will not issue a residents parking permit to any resident currently in possession of another parking permit issued by the Council.

Cost of Permit

  • The Council has set a charge of £50.00 per year for a first resident parking permit in a household and £75.00 for a second permit.
  • Permits will be valid from October to September. Initial permit will be valid until the 30 September 2011 and the charge applicable will be on a pro rata basis.
  • If a valid permit is surrendered to the Council during the course of the year then a refund will be made on a pro-rata basis for full complete months only.
  • The Council will automatically contact permit holders in September of each year to invite permit renewals.

What do I need to do next?

  • The fee of £50.00 (Cheques made payable to Surrey Heath Borough Council)
  • Proof of residence x 2 (see guidelines)
  • Proof that you are the registered keeper of the vehicle (see guidelines)
  • Enclosed you will find an application form and a copy of the Guidance Notes

Please note that it is at the discretion of Surrey Heath Borough Council to refuse an application for a Controlled Parking Zone permit. Permission to park will not be authorised until all necessary paperwork has been processed and you have received your permit. Any applications that have been rejected will be notified and all documentation and payment will be returned.
