How To Avoid Getting A Parking Ticket

Do

  • Check the signs and lines and comply with them when they are in force
  • Remember that in a Controlled Parking Zone the signage showing the general hours of control are at entry points to the Zone, rather than in every street
  • Make sure that you clearly display a valid permit in your windscreen (where necessary)
  • Park within a marked bay within the car park or Controlled Parking Zone
  • Carry a means to pay for your parking
  • Display the Blue Badges (where necessary) and in accordance with the Blue Badge Scheme Regulations

Don't

  • Assume you can park because other people have
  • Assume you can stop for a short time on a yellow line
  • Assume you can park on Bank Holidays or Sundays unless the sign says it's alright to do so
