Camberley Controlled Parking Zone - Residents Parking Scheme
The Camberley Controlled Parking Zone was introduced in August 1999. As part of the proposals certain householders, within the zone, are entitled to apply for a resident parking permit(s). The council undertook a survey in February 1997 of the likely demand for resident's permits and this letter sets out details informing residents of the scheme requirements, application, procedures and operation.
Form of permit
The type of residents permit to be issued by Surrey Heath Borough Council:
- will NOT entitle the holder to a parking space.
- will NOT exempt you from the yellow line restrictions.
- will only exempt the holder from the 'time limit' restriction if the permit is displayed in the vehicle at the parking place.
- will only be valid for the road in which the holder is a resident.
- will remain the property of the Council.
Eligibility
- Any resident who is the owner of a vehicle, who in the opinion of the Council, does not have and is unable to provide off street parking and/or garage facilities may apply to the Council for the issue of a residents parking permit in respect of that vehicle.
- Each household without off street parking facilities will be eligible to purchase one permit per vehicle, normally kept at the household, and where, for example, a household has a total of three vehicles and have two off street parking spaces the entitlement will be based on the differential, i.e. one permit.
- The Council will not issue a residents parking permit to any resident currently in possession of another parking permit issue by this Council.
Cost of permits
- The Council has set a charge of £12.00 per year for residents parking permit.
- Permits will be valid from October to September with initial permits valid until the 30 September 2009 and the charge remaining at £12.00.
- If a valid permit is surrendered to the Council during the course of the year then a refund will be made on a pro rata basis.
- The Council will automatically contact permit holders in August/September of each year to invite permit renewals.
What do I need to do next?
If you are entitled to residents parking permit(s) and require one, you will need to complete the attached application form (one per vehicle) and return it with:
- The fee of £12.00 per application (Cheques payable to Surrey Heath Borough Council).
- Proof of residence e.g. a copy of a recent gas, electric or telephone bill.
- Proof that you are the registered keeper of the vehicle e.g. a copy of the vehicle registration document, or if the vehicle is registered elsewhere then a written statement from the registered keeper confirming that you have authority to keep the vehicle at the address.
Enclosed you will find an application form, a copy of the conditions of issue for Residents Permits and additional information relating to the scheme.
It is at the discretion of Surrey Heath Borough Council to refuse an application for a Controlled Parking Zone Permit. Permission to park will not be authorised until all necessary paperwork has been processed and permit has been received. Any applications rejected will be notified and all paperwork and the payment will be returned.
If, however, you require any further information or clarification on any point please do not hesitate to contact the Council on 01276 707152. The residents parking scheme is continually monitored.
