The National Planning Policy Framework requires Local Planning Authorities to assess and demonstrate a five year supply of deliverable housing sites. The five year housing land supply paper sets out the position in Surrey Heath as at September 2016 for the five year period 2016-2021.
The Joint Strategic Housing Market Assessment undertaken with Hart and Rushmoor Councils (2016) indicates an Objectively Assessed Housing Need (OAHN) of 382 dwellings per annum (dpa) for Surrey Heath.
Having regard to the OAHN figure set out in the 2016 SHMA, the Council can currently demonstrate a 4.1 year housing land supply. The Five Year Housing Land Supply Paper will be updated following site completion visits to be undertaken in February.
Supply is based on:
- Sites with Planning permission not yet started;
- Sites with Planning permission under construction;
- Sites set out in the Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA) as deliverable over a five year period and;
- Allocated sites
