Call for Sites 2017

‘Call for Sites’ for consideration in the Strategic Land Availability Assessment 2017

Open Wednesday 1 February to Wednesday 1 March 2017

Surrey Heath Borough Council is now undertaking a formal ‘Call for Sites’. The Council has begun preparation of a new Local Plan that will set out an updated spatial strategy for Surrey Heath and guide future development over the new plan period. The ‘Call for Sites’ will help identify land within the borough that may have potential for development over this period. Sites that are submitted will be considered for inclusion in the Council’s Strategic Land Availability Assessment (SLAA) which will serve as part of the borough’s evidence base, documenting Surrey Heath’s land supply to 2032.

The 2017 SLAA will consider sites for housing including self/custom build schemes, starter homes, affordable housing, Gypsy and Traveller accommodation, as well as economic land uses and a range of other development types. For more detailed information about the specific range of uses the SLAA will cover, please refer to the Surrey Heath SLAA Methodology, which will be used as a basis for assessing sites submitted to the Council.

Submitting a Site

New and/or amended sites in Surrey Heath can be submitted to the Council using the Surrey Heath 'Call for Sites’ 2017 Pro forma. Sections need only be completed that are relevant to the specific site being submitted. In order for a site to be considered, the completed Pro Forma and a site plan (1:2,500 or 1:1,250 in scale) with the boundaries of the site clearly outlined must both be submitted together as attachments in an email to by 17:00 on Wednesday 1st March 2017.

Withdrawing a Site

If you wish to withdraw land from an existing SLAA site in Surrey Heath, no further action is required and you need not respond to the Council. As a consequence, any such land previously submitted to the Council will not be included in the Surrey Heath 2017 SLAA study.

For certainty that your site is located within Surrey Heath Borough’s administrative boundary, please use the search facility at My Surrey Heath.

Please note that the decision to include any site within the SLAA is at the Council's discretion, based on the information provided and the Council’s own assessment. The decision to include a site within the SLAA is made without prejudice to any formal determination of the Council.
