Site Allocations Development Plan Document

Preparation of a Site Allocations Development Plan Document (DPD) for Surrey Heath

Background
To support delivery of the recently adopted Core Strategy the Borough Council has begun the process of preparing a Site Allocations DPD under The Town & Country Planning (Local Development)(England) Regulations 2004 (as amended).

Once approved, the DPD will allocate specific areas of land within Surrey Heath for development such as housing, employment and retail uses. The DPD will also consider open spaces, highway improvements and settlement and countryside boundaries.

Timescales
At this stage it is anticipated that the Council will be following the timescale below in the production of the document:

• Call for housing, employment and retail sites - February 2012
• Issues and Options Paper - Autumn 2012
• Consultation on Proposed submission Document - Autumn 2013
• Submission of DPD to SoS - Jan 2014
• Examination - Spring 2014
• Adoption - Autumn 2014
